Barbie Malibu and Barbie Brooklyn attend a performing arts high school in NYC for a year. They set out to record a music demo, take odd jobs to fund their dream, explore the Big Apple, and travel back to Malibu to visit family and friends.

Malibu is feeling homesick on her first day at school in New York, but when Brooklyn loses her voice right before an important audition, the two friends find a way to help each other.
