あらすじ
ただの人間には興味ありません！
「この中に宇宙人、未来人、超能力者がいたら、あたしのところに来なさい。以上！」
入学早々、時を止めるような挨拶をした涼宮ハルヒ。
そんなSF小説じゃあるまいし…と、誰でもそう思う…。
しかしハルヒは心の底から真剣だった。
それに気づいたキョンをとりまく日常は、もうすでに超常になっていた…。

なんとか上映することができたのだが、最初の一分で観客が置いてけぼりになるのは言うまでもない…。
監督はあの涼宮ハルヒだからな！
そうそう、この映画はフィクションであることを強く言っておこう！

孤島症候群(前編)
この夏は無人島で合宿よ！と張り切るハルヒ。
ノーも言えずＳＯＳ団は古泉の親戚の館へ。
なんか怪奇な事件を期待してるっぽいハルヒを海水浴や島の探検でごまかすキョン。
二日目はあいにくの雨で室内でゲーム大会。
うさん臭い事もないまま三日目、館の主が血まみれで倒れているのを発見するのだった！

ゆゆしき事に、SOS団に悩み相談者が来た！
嬉しくてしょうがないハルヒ。聞くと、事件か？コンピ研部長が行方不明だという。
んん！ならば現場へ急行、部長宅を捜索。
見つからないと思ってたらいきなり異空間へ！来襲したのは巨大なカマドウマ！
一応退治したが、正体はなんと……。
事件の謎の多さに訝しげなキョンだった。
孤島症候群(後編)
ん?、そうそう！無人島で殺人事件の続き！
威勢の良かったハルヒも消沈気味。
精一杯捜査し、推理を展開する。
核心はどこだ？キョンも迷うその時、いもうとちゃんの活躍？もあって事件は解決へ。

秋のごたごたがようやく納まったかと思えば、季節はすでに12月。
「今年ってもう終わりなのか！」と人並みに驚きたいところだが、しかしまぁ、半年以上アイツと付き合わせられれば、非日常的な出来事も、普通に受け入れられるようになっていた…。慣れとは恐ろしいものだ…。
で、今回の団長命令とやらは、ハルヒによって自主制作映画のスポンサーに仕立て上げられた商店街の電気屋から、ストーブを譲り受けて来るというものだ。
ハルヒにしてはまともな用件なのが気にはなるが、部室にいても寒いので、俺は行くことにした。
…にしても、…オレがいない間、アイツはいったい何をしているんだ？

のっぴきならない事態に陥ったキョン。ウソ！？朝倉がキョンの命を狙ってきたぞ！
理解不能のキョンの危機を長門が救う。よもや……これは夢か、幻か……？
奇しくも朝比奈さん大人バージョンまで登場。
しぶい顔で眼前の事実を見つめるキョンだった。
射手座の日
文化祭が何とか無事に終わり、ようやく部室でのまったりとした時間を取り戻したかに思えたのだが、いきなり入り口のドアを叩きあける集団があった。
あのコンピ研である。
自分達が開発したゲームで我がSOS団と勝負がしたいらしい。
どうやらコンピ研が勝負に勝てば、以前ハルヒが話をつけたと思いながら無理矢理奪いとったパソコンを返すというのが条件なのだが…。
ということで、ハルヒ司令官のもと、1週間後に勝負を控えたオンライン宇宙戦闘シュミレーション「ザ・デイ・オブ・なんとか」の特訓が始まったのである。
そして決戦当日…。

ハルヒが監督した超スペクタクルマジカルラブロマンス映画は、なんとか上映に漕ぎ着けることができた。
「よくやったぞ、俺」と褒めてくれるのは自分しかいない現実を確認し、疲れ気味に校内をぶらついて、たまたま体育館を覗いてみたのだが…。
眠気が一気に吹っ飛んだ。
壇上にあのハルヒが現れたのである！
「今度は一体何をしようってんだ！？」という不安をよそに、長門の超絶ギターソロが始まった。
ハルヒの熱唱に体育館は異常な盛り上がりを見せる…。

ロストした朝倉を探すハルヒ達。手掛かりナシ。にべもなく帰るハルヒ。ふと自分の過去を語る。
キョンが家に着くと待っていたのは古泉。なんと閉鎖空間へキョンを案内したのだ。

さらに機嫌が悪くなっていくハルヒ。
いつものように床に就いたキョンだが、いきなり目覚めるとそこは閉鎖空間！

永遠に繰り返していたらしい夏休みも終わり、2学期となったのだが、年中無休24時間「お祭り騒ぎ」のハルヒが、体育祭、文化祭と、何かをしでかさないはずもなく…。
案の定、体育祭ではとうてい運動するには不向きな格好で走らされ、周囲から浮きまくっていたことは言うまでもあるまい。
文化祭ともなればいったい何をさせられるのやら…。
そんなこんなで、例によって「ハルヒの、ハルヒによる、ハルヒのための」打ち合わせをすることになったのである。

…ということで、いつものように英断を気取っているハルヒの独断で、我がSOS団は「自主制作映画」なるものを上映することになったわけなんだが…、いったいどんな映画を撮るっていうんだ？
って、朝比奈さんが未来から来た戦うウェイトレスで、長門は悪い宇宙人、古泉が超能力少年！
今さら驚く気にもならんが、この場合、偶然ということにしておいた方がいいんだろうな。
明日から本編の撮影と張り切るハルヒ。
脚本と言えばハルヒの頭の中だけ。
「超監督」という腕章を目にするたびに溜息が出る日々は、いったいいつまで続くんだろうか…。

一般的に考えて、自主制作映画といえば、映画好き同士が集まり、わきあいあいと撮影することを想像するものだろう…が、一般論が通用した試しがない超監督に、そんなものを求めてはいけないのである！
餌付け禁止の鳩にエサを与えては朝比奈さんを怖がらせ、神につかえし神主にモデルガンの銃口を向けるわで、やりたい放題のハルヒ。
はたまた、朝比奈さんには「目からビームくらい出しなさい！」と言う始末…。
いったい何をやらせようってんだ？
！！！！！
ちょっとまて！おまえが言ったことは本当に…！

鶴屋さん、谷口、国木田も参加することになり、まだまだ続く映画撮影。
これまでハルヒの横暴な振る舞いを見てきたが、相変わらずの朝比奈さんの扱いに、ついにオレの堪忍袋の緒が切れてしまった…。
当然機嫌が悪くなるハルヒ。
古泉によれば、早く手を打たないと「閉鎖空間」とは別のもっとひどい事態が起こるかもしれないらしい。
まさか世界が破滅するとでも？
それはこまる！ とにかくハルヒの機嫌を直さなければ…。

すまん！みんな…。
元気の無い不気味なハルヒを見るより、元に戻ってくれた方がましだと思い声をかけたつもりだったのだが…。
ますますパワーアップしたハルヒが、ますますハチャメチャな撮影を遂行していく。
もうどうにでもなれ…と思っていた矢先、またも古泉から聞かされるこの世界の異変。
ハルヒの能力により「映画内の設定が常識になりつつある」のだと…。
人間の言葉を話す猫が常識に！？
朝比奈さんや長門からも話を聞いてみたが、いったいどれが真実なんだ。
とにかく、ハルヒにはこの映画がフィクションだと思わせるしかないらしいが…。
そんなこと、どうすればできるってんだ？

涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱 I
Kyon returns home from a tiring day, only to have his little sister reprimand him for leaving her alone. Once Kyon falls asleep, the SOS brigade appear in his New Year’s Dream, with Koizumi, Yuki and Tsuruya appearing as Mt. Fuji, an Eggplant and a Crane, respectively.

Kyon first arrives at the clubroom, only to be deafened by Haruhi who is throwing a tantrum because she is bored. Shortly thereafter, Kyon finds Yuki playing an eroge on her laptop with the volume turned up. Kyon provides her with a set of rabbit-shaped headphones to keep the ‘questionable sounds’ from being heard in the room. Shortly afterwards, Kyon is accosted by Ryōko Asakura who attempts to kill him, but is stopped by Yuki. Before she fully dies, she informs Kyon that there are others who will attempt to kill him only for Kyon to reveal “Yasu is the culprit”. (In the English dub, this becomes “The butler did it”)

Mikuru finds the clubroom deserted, with a TV set on the table. Mikuru turns it on, to find she is the audience of a local quiz show, in which Haruhi is the host, and Kyon and Yuki are the contestants. However, Haruhi’s attempts of making the quiz more local go a bit too far.

Mikuru is shocked to find Yuki playing eroge on her laptop, but she is too embarrassed to tell Kyon about her discovery. Over the course of several days, Kyon notices that the books in the clubroom shelves are gradually being replaced with video games. Meanwhile, Haruhi sees Yuki wearing a different cosplay outfit every day. Later on, Yuki discovers that Ryōko has revived herself, but in a chibi form no larger than a basketball (called Ryōko “Achakura”.) After rescuing the miniature Ryōko from a hungry cat, Yuki allows her to stay at her apartment.

The computer club challenge Haruhi to a dodgeball game in the hopes of retrieving their laptops, but Haruhi decides to play a real game of dodgeball. Her reality-altering powers allow all the players to use 100% of their abilities.
涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱 VI
Mikuru informs Kyon of extra outfits found on the clothes rack in the corner. When informed that they belong to Yuki, a small-scale cosplay ‘war’ breaks out. At the end of the day, Yuki finishes an anime series she has been following, and lends her collection to Kyon. Mikuru grows upset when she sees the lead character of the series is a maid, scaring her into thinking Kyon has a ‘maid fetish’. Ryoko is annoyed at how Yuki keeps putting her in baby things, although cannot help but fall victim to her idea of fun.
涼宮ハルヒの退屈
Haruhi holds a sport contest. When asked to bring ‘a barrier to the heart’ as part of a scavenger hunt, Kyon brings Koizumi over and tells him ‘I love you’, causing Haruhi to faint. Taniguchi lags behind in the events while Kyon gets used as a makeshift tug-of-war rope.
笹の葉ラプソディ
Haruhi holds a ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ Spring Festival, in which she dresses Taniguchi as a demon and gives him food while everyone goes outside and celebrates. Yuki traps Ryoko and forces her to dress up in an outfit for Hinamatsuri.
ミステリックサイン
Haruhi asks for ideas for a screenplay and ends up writing about otaku maid warriors with a month to live fighting to the death, which somehow leads to Kyon exploding.
孤島症候群（前編）
After a minor scuffle with Ryōko while half asleep, Yuki heads out for a Sunday morning outing with the SOS Brigade. Ryōko cleans up the apartment to take her mind off things, but soon grows upset being stuck inside. Using an umbrella, she manages to make her way to the building entrance, only to return quickly to the safety of the apartment when a cat hungrily eyes her.
孤島症候群（後編）
Yuki hides Ryōko in a box just before Haruhi, Mikuru, and Tsuruya arrive at her apartment to make Valentine chocolates. Haruhi’s plan to create a life-size chocolate version of Mikuru is deemed impossible, so the girls pass the time fashioning chocolate sculptures, with the leftover chocolate used to make truffles (which are immediately gobbled up by Yuki). After her visitors leave at the end of the day, Yuki lets Ryōko out of the box, and shares a small chocolate cake with her.

Valentine’s Day is upon the SOS Brigade, and the girls have chocolates for Kyon and Itsuki. However, they have to ‘earn’ their presents. The two guys leave and return, dressed as hosts in flashy suits and ‘handsome’ poses, which does nothing but make Mikuru cry.
エンドレスエイト II
Haruhi decides to celebrate Halloween, but knows nothing about the event, using a single image as reference. The group later makes up a Halloween monster using a jack-o’-lantern, a cape, some candles, and several bats placed on an anatomical figure. Sometime later, Yuki takes Ryoko to the supermarket and helps her out in cooking dinner. Ryoko later scolds Yuki for playing games late at night.

Haruhi and Kyon have a small battle involving balloons and blow-guns. However, when Mikuru wanders into the room, she is used as the unwitting victim of a balloon-decorating contest, with Itsuki as the judge. Meanwhile, Yuki finds some extra un-inflated balloons, and decides to take them home.

Using the balloons she got from Kyon, Yuki makes Ryoko a living balloon dog, although its creation is a little horrifying. While having fun with it, Ryoko walks into another trap laid by Yuki, with assistance from the dog, who suddenly talks and calls himself Kimidori.

Haruhi hosts a ‘simple and healthy’ cooking show, which to her means boiling instant noodles for ridiculous amounts of time. During the commercial, Kyon tries to practice with a katana Yuki had with her, but it ends up being too much for him.
エンドレスエイト VI
Haruhi makes arrangements for a cherry blossom viewing party, which basically boils down to everyone having fun while Kyon digs a big hole.
エンドレスエイト VII
Kyon is joined by Mikuru, Tsuruya and Yuki, who find a stone that Yuki breaks, releasing a spirit. While trying to figure out how to dig his hole, Kyon is interrupted by Arakawa who “randomly” stops by, and Mori who creates a giant crater. Unable to explain the situation to Haruhi, Kyon takes all the credit.

Curious about the motives of Santa, Haruhi sets Kyon to keep watch for him while everyone else has a Christmas Party. They encounter Taniguchi, who dressed up as Santa to return an unwanted kappa he stole from the computer club. When Haruhi sees him, her powers transform him into what she envisioned Santa to look like and chases him until he is apprehended by Yuki and Tsuruya. He escapes, but returns to normal.

Ryoko and Kimidori try to pull a prank on Yuki, but she is totally oblivious. While trying to get Kimidori out from under a fridge following one of their attempts, he bursts, devastating Ryoko. It turns out, she had been punk’d by both Yuki and Kimidori.
涼宮ハルヒの溜息 II
Haruhi, Mikuru, Yuki and Tsuruya attend a mall exhibition while Kyon and Koizumi attempt a jigsaw puzzle. Tsuruya fights against one of the show’s monsters, who is really Mori, but is inevitably defeated. In the wake of the clash, Kyon and Koizumi’s puzzle is ruined, leaving them frozen in place.

Ryoko scolds Yuki and Kimidori for being so carefree and gets them to help with the cleaning. After it is done, Ryoko becomes curious as to why Kimidori is in a kite, and joins in their fun.

Haruhi hosts a talk-show, with Kyon as her guest, but neither can think of anything worthwhile to talk about and keep getting distracted by Mikuru.
涼宮ハルヒの溜息 V
Feeling a little bored on their own, Ryoko and Kimidori discover a present from Yuki to relieve their boredom, which turns out to be a bomb. In order to save Ryoko, Kimidori carries the bomb outside before it explodes. Yuki returns and everyone is alright, although Kimidori is slightly brown.
朝比奈ミクルの冒険 Episode00
Haruhi and Kyon try to decide on a new look for Mikuru, although their figure drawing skills are incredibly bad. Tsuruya helps out, but seemingly, her drawing skills was also incredibly bad due to the influence of Haruhi’s powers. Afterwards, Yuki shows Kyon that she has made a dating sim of the SOS brigade, which is surprisingly full of bad ends.

第 1 話
The future Mikuru tells Kyon where to find a certain person that he is supposed to help. Kyon and Mikuru travels back in time to the Tanabata of three years ago. Carrying the sleeping Mikuru, Kyon finds the young Haruhi herself from middle school. After helping her draw strange drawings on her school yard, Haruhi questions him on the existence o aliens, time travelers, espers, or sliders; and Kyon suggests that they might. After Haruhi leaves, Kyon wakes up Mikuru and finds that she has somehow lost her time traveling device, or TPDD. He takes her to the Yuki of three years ago and helps them return to their proper time. Chronologically this episode takes place after The Boredom of Suzumiya Haruhi.

After the busy island adventure with the SOS Brigade and a family trip to visit relatives in the countryside, Kyon is just settling in to relax for the final two weeks of summer vacation. Unfortunately for him, Haruhi wants to get everything she can out of the precious time remaining, in the company of the SOS Brigade. As such, the group is taken on a whirlwind tour of summer activities, from swimming pools to summer festivals, part-time jobs, and bug hunting. Finally, Haruhi has made it through her entire list, and the last day of August arrives. Though Kyon tries to make up for lost time by doing his neglected summer homework, he eventually gives in to distraction, going to bed just before midnight.
第 3 話
Like the previous episode, Kyon’s easy going summer vacation is interrupted as the group is taken on a whirlwind tour of summer activities, from swimming pools to summer festivals, part-time jobs, and stargazing. However, Kyon is wracked by a constant sense of déjà vu. Koizumi is likewise troubled, while Nagato seems even more detached than usual. They finally work out the truth: Haruhi has put the last two weeks of August into an infinite loop because she refuses to let summer end. They find out that the loop has repeated 15498 times. However, none of them can devise anything to stop the cycle from repeating. On the second-to-last day of summer, Kyon calls out after Haruhi in a last-ditch attempt to stop her from leaving unsatisfied, but fails to think of anything he can do, and she leaves. As the last day of vacation arrives, Kyon, resigned to the loop repeating itself, goes to bed without finishing his summer homework.

The same exact events in the previous episode once again unfold with slight variations and the gang wearing different clothes. Once again the Brigade, with the exception of Haruhi, finds out that they are trapped in an infinite loop. In this 15,499th loop, Kyon and the others once again are unable to discover how to escape the endless summer. In the same scene in the restaurant, Kyon is unable to stop Haruhi from leaving, hence dooming the world to another summer loop. Kyon again goes to sleep without finishing his homework on the last day of summer.

The previous time loop continues for the 15,513th time. This time, Kyon mentally senses an even greater familiarity with events and places from previous cycles. Once again, none of the Brigade members can devise anything to stop the cycle from repeating. On their final meeting in the restaurant, Kyon tries to call out after Haruhi but fails to do anything as visions of the loop’s events flash in his mind. As Kyon regains his senses, Haruhi has left. As the last day of vacation arrives, Kyon, resigned to the loop repeating itself, goes to bed without finishing his summer homework.

The previous time loop continues for the 15,521st time. As the last day of vacation arrives, Kyon stays up late until midnight finishing his summer homework alone without any assistance. The final scene shows Kyon’s clock ticking away on his desk but cuts out to the ending video one second before the clock strikes 12:00am.

The previous time loop continues for the 15,524th time. Kyon goes to bed without finishing his summer homework once again.

The loop continues for the 15,527th time. The scene where Kyon answers Haruhi’s call loops twice, the scene in which Kyon notices Yuki at the pool loops twice, and the scene where Haruhi says she left the last day of summer open just in case also loops twice. Kyon once again goes to bed without finishing his summer homework.

The loop continues for the 15,532nd time. But as Haruhi leaves, Kyon knows what to do to break the endless loop of summer.

North High School is preparing for the North High Festival. Kyon and Haruhi’s class, class 1-5, decides to do some questionnaire. Haruhi does not like that decision and tells Kyon that the SOS Brigade will do something more interesting. She decides to make a movie clip that has Mikuru as the protagonist. One day, after school, Haruhi, Kyon, and Mikuru go to stores in order to get a camera and airsoft guns.

Preparation for the SOS Brigade’s short film continues, with character roles revealed—Yuki as an evil alien, Itsuki as an esper, and Mikuru as a battle waitress from the future. Mikuru is forced to dress in an embarrassing waitress costume for her role, while Yuki appears as a witch. On the first day of filming, the Brigade film two commercials to advertise their sponsors with Mikuru dressed in her waitress costume and then her bunny girl costume, much to her embarrassment. They then film several scenes in a park, and Kyon points out that Haruhi did not actually write a script.

Shooting of the SOS Brigade’s short film continues. During the battle scene, Haruhi is displeased with Mikuru’s acting. She yells at her, demanding that Asahina try to shoot a laser beam from her contact-lens-colored eye, but Kyon manages to cool her down . Afterwards the scene is reshot but, to the surprise of everyone except Haruhi, Mikuru actually shoots laser beams from her eye. Yuki knocks Mikuru down and apparently takes her contact lens. In a conversation Itsuki explains to a shocked Kyon that Haruhi changed reality once again and Nagato proves his words by showing her hand, burnt while protecting Kyon from being hit by the laser. Koizumi promises to take care of Mikuru’s problem with Yuki’s help. The rest of day is spent on shooting more scenes with Mikuru dressed as a bunny girl. The next day Kyon finds out that Haruhi dragged Tsuruya, Taniguchi and Kunikida to help. After Haruhi gets off to pick up Mikuru, Itsuki explains to Kyon that Yuki succesfully helped Mikuru get over herself. Haruhi returns with Mikuru, who secretely tells Kyon how Yuki helped her: she bit her to inject nanomachines into her body. Haruhi leads everyone to the next shooting location, a lake near Koizumi’s house.

As the SOS Brigade shoot more of their film, Haruhi tries to give Mikuru another contact, ergo another superpower. Yuki quickly takes action and injects her with more nanomachines before any damage could be done. Despite the weird phenomena Haruhi’s film is causing, Itsuki suggests it is better than more closed spaces being opened up. However, when Kyon discovers Haruhi arranged for Mikuru to be drugged for a kiss scene with Itsuki, he gets furious at her shabby treatment of Mikuru and almost hits her, forcing Itsuki to hold him back. This causes Haruhi to become depressed, having always thought Kyon would support her. Kyon, reluctantly learning something from Taniguchi, later apologizes to Haruhi and filming resumes. However, he seems to have inadvertently encouraged Haruhi even more, making cherry blossoms grow out of season.

Deciding Yuki needs a familiar for her role, Haruhi picks up a stray cat and names it Shamisen. However, when Haruhi leaves that day, Shamisen starts talking as a result of Haruhi’s powers. Itsuki suggests that they need to remind Haruhi her movie is a work of fiction, before reality takes any more damage. The next day at school, Mikuru gives him a coupon for her class’s yakisoba café, and gives her views on Haruhi that she couldn’t say in front of Itsuki. Kyon later talks with Yuki, who throws up the idea that one of them, including herself, may be lying. As shooting resumes, Haruhi’s powers to continue to make Mikuru a deadly weapon. Itsuki calls Kyon out later that night, asking him to find a way to hold back Haruhi’s powers. Kyon convinces Haruhi to add a disclaimer at the end, saying the film is a work of fiction, and the rest of the shooting goes without a hitch. Kyon falls asleep whilst editing the movie, only to find it has edited itself overnight. At the very last of this episode, there is a flashback to May that Kyon tries telling Haruhi that Yuki, Mikuru and Itsuki are actually aliens, time travelers and espers, but she doesn’t believe him.
